The Defenders:
A History of the Birth Control Movement in Wisconsin

What started as a five-minute 70th birthday video for Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin has become a feature length documentary over the past two years. trilobyte pictures is thrilled to release “The Defenders” in September, 2006! Featuring a tapestry of interviews that illuminate the role birth control has played in the lives of women and families, the film provides an intimate window on the personal experiences and raw memories of the fight for access to birth control and reproductive freedom. And it comes at a critical time when those who now reap the benefits of that fight are largely unaware of the historic struggle for, and the current threat to, their freedom.
